Questions
- Why don't you charge per email?
- Because we don't send it. You connect your own Resend or Amazon SES account, so delivery is billed by them at their rates — usually a fraction of what a traditional ESP charges once volume climbs. Pharos is priced on what it actually does: managing contacts, campaigns, automations and the API your agents call.
- What happens to my data if I leave?
- Contacts export to CSV at any time, and the API can read everything a key is scoped for. Your sending account is yours — it was never routed through us, so your domain reputation and your subscriber list stay where they are.
- Do I need my own AWS account?
- No. Resend is the documented default and takes about fifteen minutes end to end — sign up, add your domain, set the DNS records, paste the API key into Pharos. SES is there as an escape hatch if you are already on AWS.
- Is the API included on every plan?
- Yes, including the MCP server. Pharos is API-first — the dashboard is a review surface, not the product. Agent keys are deliberately provisioned without send permission, so a model can draft a campaign and resolve exactly who would receive it but cannot deliver it.
